DDM Company
Leuven, Belgium

When research becomes industry, we invest.

DDM Company is a Belgian family office. We back engineering companies — power electronics, climate technology, industrial software.

01  /  What we do

We take minority positions in companies building physical and industrial technology: power conversion, electrification, climate infrastructure, and the software that runs it.

We are small by design. Simple decision-making, no committee, no third-party capital. We work with the companies we back.

02  /  Portfolio

CompanyWhat it isWhy we are in it
AixControlPower electronics — development through series production, control systems, real-time simulators, end-of-line test equipment. An RWTH Aachen spin-off that turns laboratory power electronics into shippable hardware. The thesis in one company.
ClimateCampCollaboration platform for supply-chain carbon data and CSRD reporting.Carbon accounting only works if suppliers take part. ClimateCamp builds for the network, not for the report.
AmbrioImmersive sound systems for live music.Spatial audio has been a studio format for decades. Ambrio is making it work in a field, at scale.

Previously

Private equity in established Belgian companies.

03  /  Approach

Patient, not passive

We invest family capital, so we do not work to a vintage year. But every position has to earn its place, and we sell when the thesis is done rather than when a fund's clock runs out.

Engineering first

Diligence starts with whether the technology works, and ends with whether the cap table is honest.

Close to the source

DDM was built on a career in academic research. We stay close to the institutions our companies come out of.
